अपना स्कूल समता निकेतन के तीन छात्र अपनी माता के साथ शिक्षण कार्य के सम्बंध में अपने शिक्षक से मिलने पहुंचे। और शिक्षक से सलाह ली कि घर पर शिक्षण कैसे करे।

Jakhadhar campus

Sachin visited Jakhadhar campus as soon as travel restrictions were lifted : 13 may. Flowers are in bloom. Sitaram ji has dug some pits for plantation. All our students are safe at their homes. They are being taught online by our teachers. 

We played badminton in the evening with our staff and some children from a neighbouring family. 

Trees are in bloom. Villages are quiet. As if nothing happened here, unlike big cities in the rest of the country. 

Covid Response

SMTA is collaborating with Digital Saarthi, to empower community and front line workers (like ASHA), to deal with covid challenge in coming months.  We have started a Milaap crowdfunding campaign to this purpose. (link)
This is a six month pilot project to empower community level workers (ASHA etc.) through training and relevant supplies (mask, PPE etc.) in collaboration with Digital Saarthi. Experts believe that Corona will shift from epidemic to endemic with seasonal flare ups from time to time. From urban centres, it will sneak into rural areas. A community which is aware and community workers who are well trained and equipped are going to be the sheet anchor of our agrarian economy in coming decades. Abhinav Rawat, our new volunteer is coordinating this initiative. 

Response to Covid

Online education

A tiny virus has changed our lives - perhaps in enduring ways. To be on safe side, as per the state orders, the school was closed in March 2020. Online education was started around 10 April otherwise children may forget to read and write!
Big Challenges were: Not every child had access to a smart phone. Data connectivity is patchy in the mountains. Lastly, being a rural mountain region, most parents had drafted heir children into various chores: grazing the cattle, farm work etc. A whatsapp group was made of those children whose parents had a smartphone. Others were contacted on voice phone twice a day: in the morning, the teacher gave them the task and in the evening they inquired into compliance.

Online school education in Chakrata

वैश्विक महामारी कोरोनावायरस कोविड-19 देशभर में फैलने के कारण सरकारी आदेश अनुसार अपना स्कूल समता निकेतन जाखाधार चकराता जिला देहरादून भी उत्तराखंड लॉक डाउन के कारण विद्यालय बंद किया गया है । जिस जिस कारण बच्चों की पढ़ाई लिखाई का कार्य अधिक समय के लिए बंद हो गया था । बच्चों को पढ़ाई से जुड़े रहने के लिए हमने विद्यालय की ओर से ऑनलाइन पढ़ाई करवाने की एक कोशिश की लेकिन गांव में स्मार्टफोन के अभाव से बच्चे विद्यालय के व्हाट्सएप ग्रुप से नहीं जुड़ पा रहे है फिर भी हम जितना संभव हो रहा है निरंतर प्रयास कर रहे है ।जिससे अभी तक कक्षा 4 व 5 के 10 बच्चे जुड़ पाए हैं जिनको प्रतिदिन प्रातः काल 10:00 बजे अभी अंग्रेजी और गणित विषय में कक्षा की पुस्तकों से फोटो खींचकर वीडियो बनाकर पढ़ाई लिखाई का कार्य दिया जाता है ताकि बच्चे घर पर अपनी पढ़ाई जारी रखें विद्यालय के ग्रुप से जुड़े बच्चों को यूट्यूब से भी पाठ की वीडियो भेजी जाती है यह कार्य हमने दिनांक 10 अप्रैल 2020 से शुरू किया है इसके साथ साथ जो बच्चे व्हाट्सएप पर नहीं है उनके अभिभावको को हम फोन कॉल द्वारा जानकारी दे रहे है कि बच्चों के पास इस समय जो भी पुरानी तथा नए पाठ्यक्रम से संबंधित जो भी किताब है उन किताबों का प्रयोग करें साथ ही जिन छात्रों के छोटे भाई बहन है वह उनको पढ़ाई में सहायता करें ।एक ही गांव में रहने वाले अपने आस पड़ोस के बच्चों से भी किताबें ले सकते है। इसके साथ ही हम बच्चे क्या कर रहे हैं? कब कब पढ़ते हैं? उनके स्वास्थ्य तथा कोरोनावायरस से संबंधित कुछ महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी पर भी अभिभावकों से बात करते है ।

विद्यालय के इन्हीं प्रयासों के माध्यम से बच्चा अपनी पढ़ाई अपने घर पर ही शुरू कर पाए है तथा समय-समय पर अपने द्वारा किए  गए कार्य को  व्हाट्सएप व फोन कॉल के माध्यम से हम तक पहुंचाते हैं ।हमारा प्रयास रहेगा कि हम इस स्थिति में भी अपने विद्यालय के सभी बच्चों से संपर्क में रहें तथा उनका मार्गदर्शन करते रहे ताकि बच्चे की पढ़ाई लिखाई में कोई बाधा उत्पन्न ना हो।
