5th October: Sultan, Himanshu and myself, visited Manju, our old teacher at her home. She is recovering from Chemotherapy. She had underwent surgery for breast tumor, sometime ago. She is coping well and God willing, should be fine soon. Her school, Apna Vidyalaya, Dandapur, is closed due to state orders because of Covid. We went to look at the school. Some kids were playing volleyball. Manju's husband and her children were very happy to see us. Her son has become a patwari, in our own Jakhdhar area.
At one time, this school was supported by SMTA and Doon school. But then, Doon school, shifted its focus area and withdrew its support. This school is looking for support. It serves a largely rural Muslim community.
